How to Navigate the Elemental Story-Web of Pages.

• Psychological Motive:
  Charlotte's intention is to explore the possibilities of hypertext narration. She hopes you might enjoy the same.

• Architecture:
  Every page except this one has an elem# (elemental number) posted in the upper right corner. The files are named "elemxyz.htm" where "xyz" is the three-digit elem#. Pages are heirarchically written in an expanding tree via their elem numbers:

  -- elem# .0.0.0. is the prime page .
  -- elem#s .0.0.1. through .0.0.9. are the secondary pages .
  -- elem#s .0.1.1. through .0.9.9. are the tertiary pages .
  -- elem#s .1.1.1. through .9.9.9. are the quaterniary pages .

• Navigation:
  A reader may jump between pages via hyperlink words. Some links are goback or flashback, which take you to an event the narrator (usually the elemental named Harken) remembers. Flashbacks will normally be introduced with such phrases as "remember I told you how...." Other links will be flash-forward links introduced by such phrases as "but we will see that" or "we would find out that...."

  However, MOST of the links will take you to the head of another elem-text derived from the linking word.

• Disclaimer:
  1.: This experiment by one of our editors is based on dream narration which awoke the writer at 04:00 a.m. on Sunday, 25 March 2001. Unlike her name, that is not a fictional statement.
