social security and big drama themes i.e. |
Yesterday Rudi and I rode to the performance at Social Security theater. "Do you want to meet Sam Woodhouse?" I asked him. Later on he asked questions implicating them in filibustering.
The work -- the play -- Nuevo California or something. A project the San Diego Rep is working on for a January presentation. Curious attempt to be bilingual, but....
*sigh* I can hardly do that myself, let alone an entire theater audience....
one character is fantastic. talks like a rapping cholo poet. the woman. played by a korean television announcer from San Diego. that part is real. Lisa Kim or something like that. she's HOT
Raquel is in the play, and Pati. They are both beautiful as usual. Have some good parts and do them well, too.
Tere met us there. She and I gave a ride to a couple of young theater guys, Jose and Andres. Dropped them at CECUT. Then went up across downtown and onto the hill to see Mely's opening.
This is the week of our birthdays. After a year "going steady" I am finally coming to be at peace with having a woman and the loss of my beloved selfish alone-ness. Plus I love her more every day. It is strange to be so attached to someone after so long a loner....
Well. Hope I can manage to surprise her for her birthday on Monday the 15th.
She gave me a book of Baja California legends on Monday the 8th. And brought a pinata to the party at the parents on Sunday the 7th.
